• Newer drugs (i.e., monoclonal antibodies) for treating patients with dementia
• Approaches to managing troubling behaviors

9:00 - 9:45 am | Pediatric Potpourri (0.75 credit)
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
• Describe updates in the care of newborns
• Discuss changes to guidelines relevant to the care of children and adolescents
• Explain new pediatrics research relevant to primary care

9:45 -10:00 am | BREAK

10:00 - 10:45 am | Care of the patient with cancer (0.75 credit)
At the end of this session, participants will be able to discuss recent research on:
• Approaches to managing symptoms in patients with cancer
• Communication issues
• Continuity of care and care collaboration

10:45 - 11:30 am | New Drugs (0.75 credit)
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
• Review the efficacy and safety for several medications FDA-approved within the last 3 years
• Compare new FDA-approved medications to current medications being used in clinical practice, if evidence is available
• Analyze the cost-benefit for several new FDA-approved medications
• Describe the role for each medication within current clinical practice

12:30 – 1:15 pm | Women’s Health Update (0.75 credit)
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
• Discuss updates to pregnancy and perinatal care
• Explain new evidence in contraception and sexually transmitted infection care
• Describe new research relevant to menopause
• Identify practice-relevant information about gynecologic symptoms and conditions

1:15 – 2:00 pm | Musculoskeletal update (0.75 credit)
At the end of this session, participants will be able to discuss recent research on:
• Managing common acute injuries
• Managing patients with osteoarthritis
• Using orthobiologics

2:00 – 2:45 pm | Type 2 diabetes (0.75 credit)
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
• Summarize changes to the recent ADA guidelines for T2D pharmacologic treatment.
• Discuss the expanding recommendations for SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 receptor agonists.
• Discuss recent research on the effects of continuous glucose monitoring

2:45 – 3:00 pm | BREAK

3:00 – 3:45 pm | Evaluating the patient with chest pain (0.75 credit)
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
• Describe how to manage a patient with acute chest pain in the outpatient setting, based on ACC/AHA guidelines
• Use the HEAR score (and HET and HEART scores) in evaluating the likelihood that a patient with chest pain has an acute coronary syndrome
• Describe the role of CT angiography in the evaluation of the patient with acute chest pain

3:45 – 4:15 pm | Screening and Prevention (0.75 credit)
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
• Describe the pros and cons of screening for colorectal cancer starting at age 45 years.
• Understand the best approach to screening for cervical cancer.
• Justify not screening for atrial fibrillation, COPD, diabetes, sleep apnea, and eating disorder

4:15 – 5:00 pm | Editor’s Choice (0.75 credit)
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
• Discuss recent research critical to family physicians for updating their diagnostic and treatment approaches
