Illinois State Requirements 
Illinois physicians are required to take three hours of Continuing Medical Education specifically on safe opioid prescribing practicesThe IAFP has online courses to meet this requirement!

Illinois Prescription Monitoring Program
State law requires that all prescribers with controlled substance licenses must register for the Illinois Prescription Monitoring Program . The Illinois Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) is an electronic tool that collects information on controlled substance prescriptions, reported on a daily basis by retail pharmacies dispensing in Illinois. If you are not already registered, please visit www.ilpmp.org and register. If you have any problems registering, call the PMP for assistance at 217-524-1311 or email [email protected].
