IAFP Online Education FAQ

June 2023 Announcement regarding the Learning Management System/Education Website - click here

Access
Due to the technical issues we are experiencing with the Education website/LMS, access will be limited to:

  • IAFP Members – All free education, including state mandated CME, is still available to members. If you run into errors, time outs, etc. please go back and try again.

  • Non-Members – If you have already purchased a CME course, it will be available to you.  Otherwise, all non-member access will be suspended until a new system is established.

  • OSF current and new members can access state mandated CME courses
  • DuPage County Health Department providers new, and current can still access the Implicit Bias courses
  • New Non-Member access will be suspended until a new system is established.

Technical & Access Issues

IAFP is aware that users of the IAFP Online Education Center are experiencing frequent unexplained issues accessing their account, pages operating slowly and even “crashing” or timing out. However, the system provider is unable to fix the issues occurring on the current online education website / learning management system.  We know that problems are intermittent, but also unpredictable.  The only recommendation for any errors or issues that you might encounter in the meantime is to log off and try again later.

We share your confusion and frustration but look forward to launching a new, functioning online education website/ LMS later in 2023.

How many credits do I need to fulfill the IL state requirement for Sexual Harassment Prevention training?

The 1-hour sexual harassment prevention education mandate applies to ANY profession licensed by the state that requires continuing education as a condition of re-licensure.

This one hour of education count towards the 150 CME hours necessary for your license renewal. The training must be offered or accredited by a professional association (such as IAFP!), state government agency, or federal agency. Click here, for complete information on license renewal requirements for the state of Illinois.

How many credits do I need to fulfill the IL state requirement for Safe Opioid Prescribing?

Beginning in 2020, Illinois physicians are required to take three hours of Continuing Medical Education specifically on safe opioid prescribing practices.  These three hours count towards the 150 CME hours necessary for your license renewal. The three hours must be offered or accredited by a professional association (such as IAFP!), state government agency, or federal agency.

While you will not be required to submit any documentation proving that you have completed the required three hours of opioid safety, you should keep your records in the event of an audit.  Should you be audited, all that you would need would be a copy of a CME certificate that states the course name, date taken, name of the accredited provider, and your name.
